This strange clip of a wrestler dressed as Michael Jackson performing his signature moonwalk during a takedown has stoked conspiracy theories that the “Thriller” singer still lives on.
The video shows a performer wearing one of MJ’s signature styles – including a glittering jacket and white gloves – as he does a dance and floors his opponent before springing into the air.
“Go MJ, go MJ, go!” a man in the crowd is heard shouting just moments before.
In another clip, the uncanny wrestler does a spin and claps his hands while dancing energetically in time to a drumbeat while the crowd frantically cheer.
Filmed in Brazil and watched more than 7 million times since it was shared on Twitter on Saturday, the video has led to wild conspiracy theories that Michael Jackson has made a new life and career in South America.
A conspiracy theorist mused: “What if this actually was him? But everyone ignores it because it’d be too ridiculous for him to be alive.
“This causes him to ironically be able to live his life however without much effort.”
Posting a heart emoji, another dedicated fan wrote: “The King of Pop never left us”.
Sounding excited, another viewer of the viral video stated: “The king is immortal!!!”
“You’ve been hit by a smooth criminal,” joked another person.
The real Michael Jackson died on June 25 in 2009 and his autopsy report found that he died of homicide after his personal doctor Conrad Murray gave him an overdose.
However, Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2011 and served two years of his four-year prison sentence for good behaviour.
This latest “MJ is alive” conspiracy theory comes after fans claimed that they had spotted his “clone” performing live on stage in China.
Meanwhile, a realistic King of Pop impersonator was declared “scary” by his loyal following who said they couldn’t tell him apart from the real MJ.
