Health First Chief Operating Officer Steve Johnson and Chief Strategy Officer Drew Rector are voluntarily self-quarantining after attending an executive summit last week where another attendee tested positive.
Johnson and Rector attended the summit outside Brevard County between March 11 and 13, according to a Health First statement. Health First was notified March 19 that the other attendee tested positive.
It doesn’t appear that Johnson or Rector had contact with the patient. Neither have shown symptoms, but they will remain in self quarantine until March 26, which will mark 14 days after the last day of the summit.
“During this time, they will remain fully engaged in our efforts to keep Brevard healthy and provide the highest level of service to our patients and community,” Health First wrote.
Less than 100 national health leaders attended the invite-only summit, according to Health First. There Johnson and Rector “discussed the future of consumerism and technology as well as shared the innovative ideas Health First is implementing.” Health First did not release the name or location of the summit.
Health First would not say whether Johnson and Rector had contact with other Health First staff or facilities or whether additional staff would be isolating and a Health First spokesperson would not elaborate when asked.
