Britain’s Got Talent viewers have managed to ‘expose’ a magician’s incredible trick.
James Piper, 38, managed to baffle the judges with a series of illusions and some shock twists during tonight’s series opener.
The judges were stunned by James sensational trick, which also involved his two sons, but some viewers claimed it was ‘obvious’ how he did the stunt.
The personal trainer by day and magician by night had a heap of surprises up his sleeve for Simon Cowell, involving his son Eric.
After picking item 25 out of a list of 56 things on James’ son’s birthday present list, Simon then chose the five of hearts from a deck of cards and wrote Eric’s name on it.
Something extraordinary happened when Simon put his hand on top of the card as James clicked his fingers and the card was left blank.
Suddenly someone started shouting from the audience while holding a wallet in the air – and it turned out to be James’ son, Dylan.
Dylan took out a wallet from inside the wallet he was holding and then produced a folded up card which belonged to Simon.
“Oh my god,” muttered the judge, but the big shocks did not stop there.
In another twist, Dylan’s twin brother Joseph came out on stage and lifted up a cloth to prove they knew from the start which card Simon would pick.
The words “five of hearts” written on a placard, but it also spelled out “Simon and Eric” when flipped upside down.
The stunned judges got to their feet to applaud, unaware that the greatest reveal was still yet to come.
Simon announced that the item from the birthday list that he had randomly chosen was a jet ski.
This was also predicted as there was a photo of Simon and Eric on a jet ski on the other side of the placard.
Simon’s face dropped as he sat in disbelief – and he invited little Eric up to join him on his lap.
Many BGT viewers took to Twitter to claim it was “obvious” that Simon would choose Eric as the most important person in his life.
One viewer said: “Well it was all obvious that Simon would write Eric’s name”
“Bit obvious that Simon would choose his own son,” asked another.
A third added: “Was very obviously was gonna use Eric because even I said Eric before he said Eric lol”
“I mean this act is good and all but Simon only has 1 child so was obvious who’d he choose,” said a fourth.
However, they did have plenty of fans at home who loved the magic trick.
“I have NO words, serious goosebumps AMAZING,” said one viewer.
Another added: “You can’t beat a good magic trick man. And this is a good magic trick”
“THAT WAS FREAKING INCREDIBLE,” said a third.
A fourth agreed: “Oh wow! That was amazing! I’m not crying, you are”
Giving his feedback, beaming Simon said: “That was really, really special. I love the fact it was a family affair and everything linked to him and I. I liked the presentation. It was a really great audition – all of you.”
Amanda Holden admitted it felt so magical and she loved their relationship, while Alesha Dixon confessed she felt happy and emotional for them.
David Walliams added: “It was something very magical and spine-tingling I felt.”
In an unprecedented move, Simon declared that they had five ‘yeses’ because of Eric as well.
After the father and sons trio had got off stage, David went up to grab the photo of Simon and his son on a jet ski.
Kissing Simon’s face on the snap, David said: “I’ll have this at home. Would it be weird if I put it on my wall?”
But he didn’t get the chance as young Eric quickly rushed up to grab the giant photo, with David adding: “Sorry Eric, it’s yours.”
